215/70 VR15 Avon CR6-ZZ Racing Tyre
The Avon CR6-ZZ is a fast road, track day and race tyre. It provides exceptional wet and dry grip and is easily recognised by its classic zig-zag pattern. Available in a range of 15 sizes including 10, 13, 14 and 15in covering Mini through to AC Cobra with Ford, Porsche and Jaguar in between. Modified classic car owners struggling to get a grip with standard rubber should take a look at the ZZ range.
For competition use Avon's CR6-ZZ classic race tyre handles beautifully in all weathers on a classic car. The carcass is designed to handle in a progressive manner which is what make it so suited a classic cars chassis.
The CR6-ZZ has a competition compound, which is great for all forms of classic motorsport be it vintage racing, historic rallying or classic track days. Within the build of a tyre, to gain one advantage you must balance it against something else. So in that CR6-ZZ is a racing compound, although it is road legal, it will deteriorate quicker than a road compound. Also the tread pattern though great as a race compound it isn’t what you would choose for a road tread pattern.
